This pair of sculptures, one of a kneeling man showing a small boy a curious fawn, and one of a woman and a young girl looking at a family of swans, was originally commissioned for the Marion, Ohio, branch of Home Savings of America. Instead, they were sent to the St. Louis branch of the bank, which has since become Roosevelt Bank.

About the artist:

Richard Ellis

b. 1938

Richard Ellis earned his master’s degree in Sculpture with distinction from the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Soon after he was awarded the prestigious “Prix de Rome” Fellowship, and spent a year working, traveling, and studying in Europe. He has collaborated with architects, designers, and craftspersons to create several large-scale works in public areas.
