Regional Arts Commission 2017 Artist Fellowships Now Open

July 7, 2017

The Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis  (RAC) announced today that the application process for the $20,000 Artist Fellowships to local artists is now open. Applications will be accepted through Thursday, August 10, 2017. The 2017 Artist Fellowships mark the fifth year of this initiative to support St. Louis area artists of all disciplines. This initiative was created based on results of the RAC sponsored Artists Count survey conducted in 2012, the largest survey of its kind in the United States. The application, eligibility, schedule, and criteria for selection can be found at http://racstl.org/grant/artists-fellowships/

Ten $20,000 fellowships will be awarded to individual St. Louis artists in any discipline. Recipients will be chosen by an Advisory Committee of professionals, peers and RAC Commissioners. Beyond monetary value, this opportunity will give artists time and freedom to study, reflect, experiment, explore, and create. Since its inception in 2013, forty St. Louis area artists have received this fellowship award.

How-To-Apply Workshops
The workshops will provide information about how to access the application, what to include (and not) in artist’s statements and work documentation, and provide answers to artist questions.
