At 22, Chato – as friends and fans call him – is one of the most brilliant and disarmingly honest artists in the crowded Regional Mexican field.

He’s also lead vocalist and principal songwriter for Marca MP, which plays romantic songs and old-fashioned corridos with a daring aesthetic: pared down to a backing of guitars, bass and a solitary tuba.
