Purpose
The primary function of the Executive Committee is to provide leadership for the Commission by assisting in shaping the Commission’s vision by planning and creating goals for the future, ensuring a wholistic approach to decision-making and overseeing the President & CEO. The Executive Committee is empowered to act on behalf of the Commission between Commission meetings.
Duties
- Handle urgent issues, resolve any emergencies or organizational crisis
- Perform policy work, as needed
- Act as a liaison to the President & CEO
- Oversee the hiring and firing of the President & CEO
- Oversee human resources
- Oversee goals for conducting the evaluation and setting the compensation of the President & CEO
- Oversee best use of space and optimal long-term configuration of the building
- Oversee determination of capital needs and priorities
The full Executive Committee will meet at least 2 times per year. This does not include any meetings that the President & CEO may have with the Committee Chair and others.
