Formerly known as MetroLines, the Poetry in Motion project continues to be sponsored by AIT, now in partnership with the Poetry Society of Americas Poetry in Motion Program. AIT also maintains regional partnerships by working with River Styx and SIUE souester to continue to include Missouri and Illinois poets. Funding is provided by the Regional Arts Commission (RAC) and the Missouri Arts Council (MAC).

Artist Bio:
Arts in Transit works to enhance the transit system by commissioning temporary and permanent public art works by local, regional and national artists. To date, more than one hundred projects have been installed or performed. Currently, project venues include MetroLink stations and vehicle interiors, MetroBus centers, bus shelters, and bus exteriors.
AIT has become a catalyst for enabling neighborhood residents to weave MetroLink stations into the fabric of their community. Well-coordinated community involvement and excellence in art and design helps develop public environments that are well-used and that contribute to both the social and economic well-being of the community.
