The St. Louis Walk of Fame commemorates over 100 extraordinary men and women related to St. Louis with a brass star and a bronze plaque placed in the sidewalk of the Delmar Loop. Twelve stars are located east of Skinker in St. Louis City: William Holden, Ntozake Shange, Cedric “The Entertainer” Kyles, The 5th Dimension, Max Starkloff, Bob Pettit, Mel Bay, Sara Teasdale, Helen Traubel, T. S. Eliot, Robert Duvall, and Robert S. Brookings. Developer Joe Edwards conceived the idea for the Walk of Fame in 1989: new stars continue to be added every year.
