AN APOLOGY For The Course And Outcome Of Certain Events Delivered By DOCTOR JOHN FAUSTUS On This His Final Evening & THE HUNCHBACK VARIATIONS

From The Midnight Company, their contribution to FAUSTival (FAUSTival.Org) 5 theatre companies exploring the Faust Myth. In FAUSTUS/APOLOGY, John Faustus apologizes to the world for not confronting evil in his lifetime (as personified by Mephistopheles). “Witty, bizarre” (Ladue News) “Funny, occasionally profound” (KDHX) “sometimes plain weird” (Post-Dispatch.) In HUNCHBACK, the Hunchback of Notre Dame and Beethoven collaborate on creating Chekhov’s illusive stage direction for a sound effect from THE CHERRY ORCHARD (though the Hunchback is fictional; if he wasn’t he and and Beethoven would have lived hundreds of years apart; Chekhov’s play would have been written long after both were dead; and both are completely deaf. “Absorbing, amusing” (West End Word) “cerebral, comic…just plain weird” (Post-Dispatch.
David Wassilak and Joe Hanrahan reteam for these acclaimed revivals.
