Art Exhibit / THREADS, by Carol Carter

Artist Carol Carter presents her latest body of work, THREADS, featuring portraits of immigrants, and celebrating the richness and diversity of people who make up America. In describing her concept for the exhibit, Carter said, “Immigrants have been the life blood of our nation from the beginning. One way or another, we are all descendants of immigrants. The United States is a rich tapestry of cultures, languages, and ideas from people drawn from all over the world. Each portrait represents a colorful thread in the tapestry of our great nation, telling a story of dignity, promise, and fulfillment.”

The THREADS exhibition is comprised of 75 watercolor portraits, representing some 37 nations of origin. Each painting is accompanied by a summary of the immigrant’s experience in making their way to the United States.

The Galleries at Heartland Art Club is open Wednesday – Saturday, noon to 5pm.
