Jazz n’ Tounges: The Art of Music and Poetry

The Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Saint Louis University in collaboration with Nu Art Series presents Jazz n’ Tongues: The Art of Music and Poetry, focusing on the indigenous American art form of Jazz, with poets highlighting the importance of free improvisation with the spoken words lending social, historic, and artistic context to the music.

The second event in the series on Friday, November 2, 2018 features internationally renowned poet and author Quincy Troupe (NYC) with musicians Joe McKinley (Bay Area), Tracy Andreotti, Aaron Parker, David Jackson, and George Sams. The performance begins at 8 PM in the University Theatre, Xavier Hall, 3733 West Pine Mall, 63108 on the campus of Saint Louis University. Parking available at the Queen’s Daughter Hall lot, 3730 Lindell Blvd. Tickets are $10 and available through metrotix.com or 314-534-1111, and at the door.
