Vincent Varvel – Guitarist

Join St. Louis Classical Guitar for our last Local Spotlight event of the 2023-24 Concert Season with contemporary guitarist Vincent Varvel at the High Low Listening Room as part of the Local Spotlight series, Wednesday May 15th at 7:00pm.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Vincent Varvel started playing music early on, studying piano, clarinet, and organ. He began playing guitar at age 15 and attended college at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. As well as performing professionally in St. Louis, Varvel has toured the United States and Europe with various ensembles in addition to leading his own jazz group performing his original compositions. He is currently Instructor of Guitar at Washington University in St. Louis, along with maintaining a private teaching practice and performing regularly with his own group and as a sideman.
