One of the region’s most bustling and diverse neighborhoods, the Loop is in many ways the artistic and creative hub of St. Louis. Located along a roughly one-mile stretch of Delmar Avenue, the Loop bridges the City of St. Louis and the suburb of University City and is within a short walk of Washington University.
Staples of the Loop include independent music shop Vintage Vinyl, bar and restaurant Blueberry Hill, art and film-festival landmark Tivoli Theatre, and the concert venue The Pageant. Visitors to the Loop can explore local history with each footstep along the St. Louis Walk of Fame and take in numerous pieces of public art — from the Loop’s whimsical bicycle racks to the statue of favorite son, Chuck Berry, and sculptor Janet Lofquist’s “Hive.”
The Loop is also home to multiple fine art galleries, such as Componere and Serendipity, and numerous arts organizations, including the arts and education non-profits, Craft Alliance and Center of Creative Arts. Oh, and the Loop is also home to the organization behind the STL Arts app, the Regional Arts Commission. Stop by next time you’re in the Loop!
