Liz Deichmann

Arts and Economic Prosperity Study Lead*

Liz Deichmann joined the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis as the Arts and Economic Prosperity (AEP) Study Lead in 2021. As a consultant, she is responsible for leading Americans for the Arts’ AEP research in the region as well as evaluation and research activity. She has served as a Citizen Grant Panelist, Grants Department Intern, and is a Community Arts Training Institute Alumna.

Liz conducts research and evaluation in partnership with nonprofits and local governments to solve practical problems and generate action-oriented findings for public audiences. Her research is deeply informed by her extensive experience working in the arts and culture sector as a music talent buyer, film producer, and arts administrator. Her research interests include: research methodology, cultural policy, nonprofit sector, and policy process.

Liz is a PhD candidate in political science at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She holds an MA in public policy administration with a Graduate Certificate in Policy and Program Evaluation from University of Missouri-St. Louis and a BA in Art History from Saint Louis University.

Due to the ongoing financial impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Regional Arts Commission (RAC) has been working diligently to adjust our annual grantmaking programs to ensure alignment with RAC’s strategic priorities, and in response to feedback from the arts community.

Covid-19 has impacted us all. But what it hasn’t changed is RAC’s commitment to finding innovative ways to support arts programming, arts organizations, and individual artists through the pandemic, and to resuming these programs as soon as conditions allow.
