Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Donnelly donated these two lifesize bronzes to the Missouri Botanical Garden in 2000. The figures depict the family’s daughters when they were 11 and 14. At the unveiling, both girls were presented with memberships and the sculptures were praised by the Director of Development as embodying “the delight all children find at the Garden.”

The artist Don Wiegand continues to evolve powerfully within the American figurative tradition. Senior heads of state, corporate leaders, national museums, and over 500 private collectors in many countries have brought international recognition to this master sculptor who still lives and works in his native Chesterfield, Missouri. Wiegand has received numerous awards nationally and is a member of the National Sculpture Society.
