Fractured Form
By Rob Lorenson

About
Cut apart and reassembled, Fractured Form is both a powerful geometric stainless steel sculpture and an object of poetic transformation. Even on an overcast day, the steely flat surfaces dance with light. Still but ever-changing, the swirling burnished surfaces continually capture light.

A master technician, sculptor Rob Lorenson uses a variety of casting and fabrication techniques requiring extensive equipment and highly developed skills. The materials he chooses to work with range from steel and stainless steel to bronze and aluminum. Lorenson developed his knowledge of materials and techniques during the years he served as a fabrication apprentice as an undergraduate. These experiences stimulated his primary artistic interest-the creation and fabrication of cast metal sculpture for outdoor environments.
