RAC Launches Creatives Count Survey

June 9, 2023

The Regional Arts Commission believes St. Louis should be a place where every resident has the freedom, resources, and opportunities to enjoy a full creative life. In order to make this vision a reality, RAC is asking the musicians, writers, craftspeople, designers, makers, and performers who enrich the region with arts, culture, and creativity to tell them about their experience as creatives in St. Louis.

RAC will use the information Creatives Count collects to plan artist programs and services in upcoming years. Insights gained from the first iteration of the study, Artists Count (2013), were instrumental in informing RAC’s introduction of grants for individual artists.

As the only survey of its kind, Creatives Count will also be a critical source of information for governments, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals who want to learn more about the region’s creatives.

Like voting or participating in the U.S. Census, Creatives Count gives people a chance to make sure their voice is heard. Participation in the study will help the region better understand creatives and support RAC in better serving the arts and culture sector.

The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete and, once finished, participants can enter a raffle to win one of three $300 gift cards to local creative businesses!
